National proposes compulsory KiwiSaver or equivalent contributions for workers from July 2028, with combined default contributions reaching 12% by 2032. From July 2027 it proposes automatic enrolment at birth with a $1,500 payment, contributions during paid parental leave, and employer contributions for contributing members over 65.
